Scalia BagsThe commercial activity of Scalia Group has origin at the end of the 50’s, when Giuseppe Scalia, son of a leather goods dealer, has started to work in leather goods field. In the 1971 born the store in Via Marchese di Villabianca, since now a benchmark for the citizens regarding leather goods; always in ‘70’s opened the first shoes stores.

The process of enlargement of the structure starts from the beginning, reaching this peak during 1970-90, when Scalia family starts to claim their presence in all steps of the value chain in footwear sector:

  • - Production (one factory)
  • - Intermediation (two wholesalers)
  • - Sale (stores)

 

In 1991, taking up an old project of Giuseppe Scalia, opens the store Giscal, when the research and the attention to the product is combined with an equilibrate price.

In the 2000’s starts a new line of development in the new commercial district of Viale Strasburgo, with the opening of a new store.

In 2011 Scalia leather sector is expanded with the opening of other 3 stores in strategic areas: particular relevance has the opening of Scalia Bags inside Palazzo Briuccia, in one of the most important areas of luxury shop. 

2011 is a crucial year for Scalia family that decides to join in a common brand called Scalia Group, merging the competences developed by the various souls of the family to provide more advanced services. The creation of Scalia Group lead a new process of managing that, without leaving out the historical values of the tradition, opens itself to the new challenges of innovation.

In 2012 the development process continues with the opening of The Bridge Store of Viale Strasburgo, a new mono-brand store that enforced the strong partnership with The Bridge. In 2014 the store has been merged with the next store Scalia Bags.

In 2013, among the new year challenges, starts the new project of the online shopping, with the opening of the e-commerce website www.scaliagroup.com. Combining tradition with modernity is, indeed, one of the most important strength of the Scalia Group.

The care about customers and the research of high quality products have produced not just the longevity of a company in a difficult period, but also the creation of a new group leader in the leather goods, luggage and footwear fields.

 

Today Scalia Group counts five stores and one online-shop, a symbol of the dynamism that have been characterized Scalia family history from the beginning, being proud to sell products in over than 60 Country in the world.
